This existing home had a workable layout but lacked connection to the garden. The clients wanted a level, functional entertainment space in conjunction with a new mineral pool that would capitalise on the sites intimate, tropical garden setting.
To achieve this, the eaves were extended, and large, glazed sliding doors opened the view through the house for a fluid transition to the new timber deck and pool. The master suite was reconfigured and expanded to include a modern ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.
Sandstone was selected as the primary material for the surrounding landscape, providing natural elegance and resilience and the timber deck was left unfinished, designed to weather to a soft, natural grey over time.
